As many might say: “Personal experience is the basic foundation of the real experience; photography does not always capture reality”. This fact proves to be true especially for this new place which, although woven into tradition, is outside the scope of the usual vacation near Ohrid Lake. At the very first sight of the villa, which inevitably comes before your eyes after you turn into the Eleshec auto-camp, it captivates you with its monolithic abstract white appearance nestled at the foot of the Galichica National Park. Such a building not only differs from the environment it is located in, but also from everything else that you will meet along the route Ohrid-St. Naum.
The impressions you get when you first enter its perimeter are mixture of fantasy, exoticism and fiction. You cannot tell if you have entered surrealist story; you are on vacation in a tropical country, or in a James Bond movie set.
The villa can be reached by a short rural path that takes you from the main road to the paved parking lot next to the villa in less than a minute. In front of the main entrance of the villa, you are greeted by several Ohrid cherry trees, while the green fence reveals the view to the main terrace accessible from the side entrance.
The base level on which the two-story building rises consists of a unique spacious terrace that opens to the comprehensive panorama of the contours of Ohrid Lake. The pool with a transparent turquoise color and several palm trees "sprouting" from the shining marble floor create the feeling that everything around is an illusion, and you are inside an oasis.
The interior of the rooms, two on the ground floor and two on the second floor, is characterized by specially designed custom elements in white-turquoise shades. Each room has a separate bathroom lined with tiny pieces of tile through which the colors of the rainbow flow, just like the scales of the Ohrid trout. Each room opens onto its own terrace with a view of the lake, with the slight difference – whether you prefer the sun or prefer a bit of shade. The luxury of the rooms is even more emphasized if you take into account the first floor, which is a luxurious open space of a living room with a dining room and a kitchen with all the necessary utensils. These rooms have a terrace and a separate toilet. Such a space can perfectly serve both in unfavorable weather conditions and for a special occasion. From here, a spiral staircase dominated by a medium-sized dome hints that you are moving towards celestial space. They take you to the next floor, with the same layout as the ground floor and to the last terrace of the building, which is actually in the hidden roof of the building.
Here, without any visual obstacle, you are right in the middle of the conversation between the lake and the mountain, and you can perfectly feel the natural beauty of this area. From here you can also see the unusual fish-shaped shape of the villa, which with its angles and curves reveals itself as a real work of art.
This does not come as a surprise, if we take into account that from the very beginning of the mere idea for the construction of this complex, the owner has been in constant cooperation with the famous artist Dragan Spaseski-Ohridski, who unfortunately did not live long enough to see it completed. Even the location itself is deliberately protected, because it is precisely through this part of the Ohrid coast that a current of a moderate Mediterranean climate passes.
Below the main level is another stunning space with a kitchen, bar, spacious terrace and seating areas that can be used both in summer and winter. Here you can enjoy your everyday meal or organize a reception for special events. This level can be accessed directly from the parking lot as well as from the stairs leading from the main terrace with the pool next to it. In this way, the guests can enjoy their privacy or join the organized themed evenings with performances by local groups.
Below this level lies the most intimate part of the villa – the fifth and largest suite of all in the villa, which has all the comforts. This apartment has a direct exit into the oak forest that surrounds the villa, and from here you can get to the lake in the first line. Here you feel the ideal intimacy as if you were in a detached cottage in the forest overlooking a lake.
From the very first day, it can be seen that the offer of Villa Bella goes in the direction of including as many comforts and interests as possible so that you can truly feel and remember your vacation. The activities of the owners are a perfect combination of pleasure and practicality.
They make their own wine that is served only for the guests and encourage the diversity of the local cuisine. They believe that it is necessary to build the forgotten church dedicated to St.Nikola near the villa and participate in community development projects.
Villa Bella is undoubtedly located in the section of luxury buildings along the Ohrid coast and aims at a fusion of the various experiences that characterize this region and that could be modeled as you wish. The five suites indicate the limited number of guests and the preservation of intimacy during the stay. The spacious terraces, on the other hand, enable organized occasions and festivities for a large number of attendees. The numerous angles that open up unexpected views of the lake and the rocky peaks of the mountain represent unrepeatable inspirations for creative artist and create essential reflections on the creations of man and nature. The overflows of sunlight from gilded dawns to breathtaking sunsets; the shadow of the moonlight in the horizontal waves lined up in a filigree order, can serve as the perfect background of the special moments. Even short storms, when lightning is the connecting pillar between the sky and the lake, are an incredible experience. The proximity of the lake to the mountain allows all the recreational sports and explorations in water and on land.
Villa Bella creates a micro-cosmos. It is as if you are on the back of some miraculous fish-boat lake creature that came out of the water and nested in the nearby oak forest, and which could at any moment sail back into Ohrid Lake.
